Becoming a Spanish speaker is now more relevant than ever before. My name is Van, and I am a native Spanish tutor from Colombia.
CREDENTIALS:
• Native Spanish speaker from Medellín, Colombia, with over 10 years of teaching experience with students of all levels.
• Graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Latin American Studies and Spanish from Bowdoin College in 2014.
• Taught Spanish to college students as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of California, Davis in 2015.
• Assisted the Managing Partner at a bilingual (English/Spanish) law firm as the point Paralegal for corporate and immigration legal matters from 2016 to 2017.
• Worked as a Math and ELA Teacher's Assistant (Education Champion for Practice Benefit Corp) at Middle School 50 (aka J.H.S 50) in South Williamsburg.
• Founding member of the Bowdoin Latinx Alumni Steering Committee; helped lay the groundwork for the group’s launch in 2023.
• Spanish Bilingual Educator (2024) for the Stellar Farmers Markets Program with the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, where I ensured the accurate and fluent interpretation of nutrition and cooking workshops at farmer markets throughout New York City.
